Long Line, a very long line

September 1, 2017

The very first response that popped into my head when this challenge was posed was Lineage.  And that led to a stream of memories….memories about the women in my family.

I live in a three-generational household consisting of four women, so it isn’t unusual to hear stories of feats and accomplishments in current dinner conversations.

Perhaps it’s my own advancing age, but I do reflect upon those who preceded me…those who also taught me to sew and cook.  They also taught me to expect to have goals that I met…not, so much, by what they said, but by what they did.  Whilst having families, with all that cooking and sewing, they also were ranchers, butchers, dry cleaners, orchardist, saloonkeepers, lawyers, bankers, artists, stockbrokers, teachers, WAC’s and my aunt Shirley actually danced for Balanchine.
