Generations of sunflowers have been cultivated for hundreds of years as a valuable food source. The Helianthus Annus was native to North America but later commercialised in Russia. Today sunflower oil and seeds are readily available in our supermarkets.

 

Materials- cotton, wadding, silk, synthetics, thread, paint, fusible web

Techniques- hand painted, machine appliqued, machine quilted
