Sue Dennis
Brisbane, Australia
Australian, Sue Dennis is an artist, writer, international tutor, quilt exhibitor and prize winning quilter. She began quilting in outback Australia at Mt Isa in 1990.
Her passion for the environment has been documented in her many art quilts featuring anthills, opals and wattle, the Australian Floral Emblem. Her home neighbourhood and garden have also provided endless inspiration for exploration and printing.
Being married to a geologist has meant many address changes over the years often in unique and remote environments. Now quilting and travel combine perfectly in her world as Sue creates rubbed and printed fabric on her worldwide travels. This passion for both pursuits has seen her travel to far flung places such as Mongolia and Turkey to meet quilters and China, South Korea, Taiwan, the USA and New Zealand to teach.
Sue is a member of Studio Art Quilt Associates and the Ozquilt Network. In 2013 Sue was awarded Lifetime Membership of Queensland Quilters Inc, her State guild.
