I feel very connected to the Expressionist movement and see my work moving in that direction.
The innovation in my current practice lies in translating this painterly language into textiles.
Each fragment of fabric becomes a brushstroke—a gesture.
Again, these compositions make color and value the protagonists in an abstract textile collage.

Materials and technique:
I used hand dyed cotton fabrics in a machine stitched collage
The process:
After selecting the color palette I loosely follow, I began dyeing the fabrics I would need. In this case, I felt the piece also required a darker ochre, so I created it.
